As I’ve spent more time in the field, I’ve realized that what attracted me to design was never just the interfaces or the visual aspects alone. Instead, it was the recognition that good design means creating a system that supports users at every step and, ideally, becomes invisible, simply a path to their goal. For me, this requires first understanding how to solve the actual problems that stand between people and what they are trying to accomplish.
Working on projects from start to finish has taught me that what motivates me most is the ambiguity of research. It’s about resisting the temptation to jump straight to a solution, which might solve a problem, just not the right one, and instead questioning what is being requested versus what is truly needed. Doing that is a real challenge these days.
Outside of design, I read realistic fiction that explores emotional stories (currently The Time of the Flies by Claudia Piñeiro), I run, and I create playlists with whatever I've discovered lately.
